Lessilo Terms of Service
Working draft. This text was written by the operator, not by a lawyer, and has not had a formal legal review. It is nevertheless the version of the terms that applies to your use of Lessilo. If anything in it is unclear, write to us before you accept it.
Version: 2026-10-06. Last updated: 6 October 2026.
1. Who we are
Lessilo (the website lessilo.com, the web app at app.lessilo.com and the Lessilo mobile apps) is operated by Valentin Sobolev (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at contact@meerhelm.com.
These terms are a contract between you and us. By creating an account you accept them. If you register for a public event without an account, you accept these terms as they apply to guests (section 8) when you register. How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which you should read together with these terms.
2. What Lessilo is
Lessilo is a tool for private tutoring. It gives a tutor, a student and the student’s parent or guardian one shared place for:
- the lesson schedule: the tutor’s availability, bookings, moves and cancellations;
- the lesson diary: topic, summary, homework and comments for each lesson;
- a record of what each lesson costs and of payments made outside Lessilo;
- email notifications and reminders about lessons, and an optional calendar feed;
- an optional public page where a tutor can show their subjects, prices and free slots;
- public event pages, where a tutor can invite anyone, including people without an account, to register for an event such as a webinar, an open lesson or a conference.
Lessilo is not a marketplace or an agency. We do not find tutors or students, we do not check tutors’ qualifications or background, and we are not a party to the agreement between a tutor and a student or the student’s family, or between the organizer of an event and its guests. That agreement, its price and the quality of the lessons or the event are matters between them.
3. Price
Lessilo is currently free for tutors, students and parents. If we introduce paid features, we will announce them in advance and you will only pay if you choose to sign up for them under separate, clearly stated terms. Features that were free when you accepted these terms will not become paid without your agreement.
4. Accounts and who may use Lessilo
- You can sign in with an email address and password, or with your Google or Apple account. You must give a real email address you control and your real date of birth.
- One person may have several profiles in one account (for example, tutor and parent). Each profile only gives the rights of that role: being a tutor somewhere does not give you access to anything in your student or parent profile, and the other way round.
- Keep your sign-in details to yourself and tell us at once if you think someone else has accessed your account. You are responsible for what happens in your account unless it was caused by our fault.
- You must be at least 18 years old to use Lessilo as a tutor.
- You do not need an account to register for a public event. What applies to guests is set out in section 8.
5. Children and parents
- A student younger than 16 years (or the lower age of digital consent set by the law of the student’s country) may use Lessilo only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. Until that consent is recorded, the child’s account works in a restricted mode.
- A parent or guardian can add their child to Lessilo. If the parent enters the child’s own email address, the child has to confirm the invitation from that mailbox. If the child has no email address, the parent manages the child’s account and is responsible for it.
- A linked parent or guardian can see the child’s lessons, homework and payment records with the child’s tutors. A parent does not see the tutor’s private notes.
- By adding a child, a parent or guardian confirms that they have parental responsibility for the child and accepts these terms on the child’s behalf.
- A guest registering for a public event must be 16 or older. A younger child is registered by a parent or guardian, who then accepts these terms on the child’s behalf.
6. Tutors
If you use Lessilo as a tutor, you agree that:
- you are solely responsible for your tutoring activity, including any licence, registration, tax and invoicing duties and any rules on working with children that apply to you;
- you invite only students and families you actually work with, and you only enter information about them that you need for the lessons;
- you keep the information you enter about your students accurate, and you do not use it for anything other than the lessons and the related payments;
- if you open a public page, the information on it (your name, subjects, prices and free slots) becomes visible to anyone on the internet, and it is your choice to publish it;
- if you run a public event, the additional rules for organizers in section 8 apply to you.
7. Payments between users
Lessilo does not process, receive or hold any money. Payments for lessons are made directly between the student’s family and the tutor, in cash or by bank transfer, and Lessilo only keeps the record that a user enters. The tutor is responsible for the correctness of the prices and payment records, and any dispute about money is between the tutor and the family. A price is fixed for a lesson when it is booked; a later price change does not alter the price of lessons already booked.
The same applies to paid events. A guest pays the organizer directly, by the method in the organizer’s payment instructions. Lessilo is not a party to that payment and does not handle the money; it only shows the organizer’s mark that a payment was made. Refunds, including when an event is cancelled, are a matter between the guest and the organizer.
8. Public events
A tutor can create a public event page with a title, description, time, an optional limit on seats, an optional price and a link to an online call. The tutor who creates it is its “organizer”. Anyone with the link can register for it as a “guest”, with or without a Lessilo account.
8.1 Organizers
If you organize an event, you agree that:
- you alone are responsible for the event: holding it, its content and quality, its description, its time, and the call link and the call service you choose;
- if the event is paid, you are responsible for the price, for the payment instructions you publish, for collecting payments, for marking them correctly in Lessilo and for any refund, including when you cancel or move the event;
- you only register other people for an event if they asked you to, or you have another lawful reason to do so;
- you use the names and email addresses of your guests only to run the event. You must not add them to a mailing list or use them for marketing without the guest’s own consent. You are responsible for this data alongside us, as described in the Privacy Policy;
- you do not use an event page for unlawful content, phishing, fraud, collecting data under false pretences, or advertising unrelated to the event.
8.2 Guests
- You can register for an event without an account. By registering you accept these terms as they apply to guests: this section and the sections on who we are, what Lessilo is, payments, acceptable use, reporting illegal content, availability, liability, changes to these terms and applicable law. The rules on accounts, profiles and tutors do not apply to you as a guest.
- You must give your real name and an email address you control, and you must be 16 or older. A younger child is registered by a parent or guardian. The status you choose (student, tutor or parent) is only for the organizer’s information.
- Your registration counts after you confirm your email address with the link we send you. A seat is held from that moment, not when you submit the form. The call link is sent only to confirmed guests and, for a paid event, only after the organizer has marked your payment.
- Every email we send you about the event contains your personal link. With it you can cancel your registration and delete your data at any time. Do not share it: anyone who has it can do the same.
- The event itself, its price, payment and refunds are a matter between you and the organizer (section 7). Questions about the event should go to the organizer first.
9. Your content
- “Content” means everything you enter into Lessilo: lesson topics, summaries, homework, comments, notes, cancellation reasons, prices and payment notes, event descriptions and payment instructions, and the like.
- You keep all rights to your content. You give us a non-exclusive, free licence to store, copy and display it, only as needed to run Lessilo for you and for the people you share a lesson with, and for as long as we keep it under the Privacy Policy.
- Content you add to a lesson is visible to the other participants of that lesson (for example, the tutor, the student and the linked parent), except a tutor’s private notes, which only that tutor sees. Lesson records remain available to the other participants after you leave, as described in the Privacy Policy.
- An event’s title, description, time, price and the organizer’s name are visible to anyone with the link to the event page. The call link and payment instructions are shown only to registered guests, as described in section 8.
- You are responsible for your content and confirm that you have the right to enter it.
10. Acceptable use
You must not:
- break the law, or use Lessilo to harm, harass, threaten or exploit anyone, especially a child;
- enter content that is illegal, sexual, hateful or that infringes someone else’s rights;
- add people to Lessilo, or enter data about them, without a lawful reason;
- pretend to be someone else, or create accounts for people who did not ask for them;
- try to access accounts or data that are not yours, probe or overload our systems, or bypass any limit or security measure;
- use automated means to collect data from Lessilo, or resell access to it;
- use Lessilo to send advertising or unsolicited messages;
- use an event page for unlawful content, phishing or fraud, to collect people’s data under false pretences, or to register people for an event without a lawful reason.
If you break these rules, we may remove the content concerned, including an event page, restrict your account or close it. Unless the law or a risk to others requires us to act at once, we will first tell you what is wrong and why, and give you a chance to respond. You can contest any such decision by writing to contact@meerhelm.com; we will review it and answer you.
11. Reporting illegal content
If you believe something in Lessilo is illegal, including on a public event page, especially anything that may put a child at risk, write to contact@meerhelm.com. Please say where the content is, why you think it is illegal, and give your name and email address (unless the report concerns child sexual abuse material, in which case you may report anonymously). For an event page, the link to it is enough to say where the content is. You do not need an account to report. We will confirm receipt, look at the report promptly and tell you what we decided. This address is also our single point of contact for users and for authorities under the EU Digital Services Act; you can write to us in English, Polish, Ukrainian, Belarusian or Russian.
We do not use automated tools to moderate content and we do not monitor content in general; we act on reports and on what we otherwise become aware of.
12. Availability and changes to the service
Lessilo is a young service and is provided as it is at any given time. We work to keep it running and your data safe, but we cannot promise that it will always be available or free of errors. We may change, improve or remove features. If we plan to remove a feature you rely on, or to shut Lessilo down, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance by email and give you time to download your data.
13. Ending your use of Lessilo
- You can stop using Lessilo at any time and delete your account in the app, under Settings → Account. What happens to your data then is described in the Privacy Policy.
- We may close an account for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, as described in section 10, or with 30 days’ notice if we stop offering Lessilo.
- A guest can cancel a registration and delete their data at any time with the personal link from our emails, as described in section 8.
14. Liability
- Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, for intentional harm or gross negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you.
- Otherwise, because Lessilo is provided free of charge, we are liable only for damage we caused intentionally or through gross negligence.
- We are not responsible for the lessons or events themselves, for what tutors, students, parents, organizers or guests do or agree among themselves, for payments and refunds between them, for the call services they use, or for content entered by other users.
- If you are a consumer, you keep all the rights that the consumer protection law of your country of residence gives you, and nothing in these terms takes them away.
15. App stores
If you downloaded a Lessilo app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, these terms are between you and us only. Apple and Google are not responsible for the app, its content or its support. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you as far as your use of the iOS app is concerned. The store’s own terms of use also apply to your use of the store.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when the service or the law changes. Each version has its own date and stays published at its own address. When we publish a new version, we will ask you to accept it the next time you use Lessilo; until you do, you can still download your data, correct it and delete your account. If you do not accept the new version, you can stop using Lessilo. We keep a record of each version you accepted and when. If you have no account, the version in force is always at lessilo.com/legal/offer.html.
17. Applicable law and disputes
If you are a consumer, these terms are governed by the law of your country of residence, and you may bring a claim in the courts of your country. Before going to court, please write to us: most problems can be solved quickly.
If any part of these terms is found invalid, the rest remains in force.
